Ground‐Water Flow Patterns in Confined Aquifers and Pollution
The authors have developed an analytical theory that enables one to prepare a flow net for an arbitrarily shaped, confined aquifer from which water is drawn by means of a well. A knowledge of the shape of the aquifer and the hydraulic head on the boundaries of the aquifer, which are not impervious, is required. Flow nets for a number of elliptical‐shaped confined aquifers, by which naturally occurring aquifers may be approximated, are presented.
