Treatment of Groundwater With Granular Activated Carbon
Three years of research were conducted on raw, lime softened, and finished water from the Hialeah, Fla., water system to determine the adsorption capacities for four types of granular activated carbon (GAC). The carbons were tested for halogenated organic compounds, total organic compounds, and trihalomethane formation potential, as well as for several high molecular weight compounds.
