From the start, transparent insulation (TIM) was seen as a solution to better use the solar gains. In that sense, TIM panels could replace traditional lightweight sandwich outer walls, be an alternative for outside insulation used to upgrade massive walls, even figure as a replacement for the veneer in cavity walls. This chapter sheds light on these uses and, allied, the properties of TIM.
