Progressing Toward AWWA's Objectives
In his address to AWWA's 1963 Annual Conference, John G. Copley, President, American Water Works Association, hopes he can carry forward a balanced program, continuing the past areas of emphasis and bringing on new ideas. The topics he focuses on include: the education needs of the water supply profession, specifically a certification program for operators; management seminars and conferences to keep managers up with the changing times; the proper use of research funding; and, the broader goals of membership promotion, water quality standards and realistic water rates to finance construction to meet the needs of a growing population.
