Use of Bimetallic Glassy Phosphates for Corrosion Control
This article discusses the development of a sodium‐zinc glassy phosphate containing 8‐9 per cent zinc. This complex bimetallic phosphate glass proved to be three to five times as effective (depending on conditions) as straight sodium phosphate glass in overcoming corrosion in water systems. Properly used and controlled, the bimetallic glassy phosphates can be very effective in inhibiting corrosion in municipal and industrial water systems.
