Water World 2020: Where Will Our Leaders Come From?
This article addresses the challenge of planning for and developing future leaders in the water industry. The reality is that the workforce is shrinking, due to the looming retirement of the baby boomer generation, and the challenge will be to provide a rewarding career path that combines growth and development opportunities for current and future water professionals. The risk of not meeting this challenge will be losing the public's trust in our ability to deliver safe, reliable drinking water. The article provides viewpoints from two young professionals in the water industry on future leadership in the water industry.
