General Stipulations for Analysis
This chapter provides the general stipulations to be followed for analysis during excavations. It first gives general information on analysis methods. The stipulations include the determination and analysis of embedment depth, the determination of action effects, and the application of modulus of subgrade reaction method and finite‐element method (FEM). Analysis of the vertical component of the mobilised passive earth pressure, analysis of the transfer of vertical forces into the subsurface, stability analyses for braced excavations, and serviceability analysis are also explained in the chapter. Finally, the chapter provides a list of allowable simplifications in limit states GEO 2 or STR.
