Bacterial‐Population Dynamics and Dissolved‐Oxygen Minimum
In order to determine the cause of the oxygen‐minimum layer occurring in the Beaver Reservoir in Arkansas, an eight‐month investigation was undertaken which involved the study of the distribution of oxygen in relationship to temperature and bacteria. Testing procedures and results are presented in this article in addition to suggestions for practical application by the environmental engineer.
