Lake in Former River Channel Not “Running Water”
In a dispute over the ownership of a water source, a Louisiana court concluded that the water in an oxbow lake established in a former river was not “running water.” The court held that Armstrong‐Ratteree, Inc.'s pumping of the water to irrigate farmland constituted a disturbance of the oxbow lake owner's possession and affirmed a damage award.
