The renowned architect, academic and thinker Michael Sorkin reflects on the geneses of architecture, where it comes from and its current status, concluding that ‘the idea of an architecture that participates in a collective stewardship and equitable sharing of the earth ‐ and wears it on its sleeve ‐ works for me’. He illustrates his article with some of his studio's work from the last two decades that has been inspired by nature in its iconography, embracing an entire menagerie of forms.
