This book has aimed to emphasise the importance of bringing together the full range of ideas, activities, people and places that combine to shape richly varied communities. In these ways we can match and manage the rapidly expanding range and complexity of these driving forces to create more inclusive, successful and happier communities, at scales ranging upwards from local neighbourhoods to contribute even to national and emerging global communities. These Conclusions therefore consist of two parts: first, current themes, roles and directions; and finally, the prospects for the future of community planning.
