Usepa Promoting New Consumer‐Oriented water Efficiency Program
This article reports on WaterSense, a new water efficiency program being promoted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) to educate U.S. consumers on making smart water choices that save money and maintain high environmental standards without compromising performance. The overall goal of the voluntary public‐private partnership program is to help consumers identify water‐efficient products and programs. Products bearing the WaterSense label will have met water efficiency and performance criteria, and consumers will know that such products will perform well, help save money, and encourage innovation in manufacturing. The WaterSense label will appear on products and programs that perform at least 20% more efficiently than their less‐efficient counterparts.
