Multiscale Modeling of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Systems
A concept of multiscale modeling of a tubular solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system was presented. The major features of two basic modeling tools were described and explained by auxiliary examples: a process simulator for the system level at macro scale and computational fluid dynamics tools used in cell and stack‐level modeling. Guidelines for the integration of the two numerical tools were presented along with the implementation of merging a SOFC CFD model with an ASPEN Plus one by means of an in‐house interfacing software.
