Three pavilions by Sérgio Bernardes : Contribution to the Brazilian Modern Architectural Avant-Garde in the Mid-20th Century
Sérgio Bernardes, a restless architect, with a fine and exquisite line, always concerned with geometry, materials and the construction process, he designed and built several pavilions during his life. We leave our readers a revisit to the three pavilions we have already published, a singular sequence of Brazilian Modern Architecture in the 1950s: the Volta Redonda Pavilion in São Paulo, from 1954, the award-winning Pavilion of Brazil at the Universal and International Exhibition of Brussels, from 1957 to 1958, and the Pavilion of the International Fair of Industry and Commerce, erected in São Cristóvão, Rio de Janeiro, between 1957-1960.
