The industrial town as factor of economic and social development : the example of Jinja/Uganda
Klappentext: The case of Jinja (Uganda) is taken to examine the effects of industrial settlement and the related process of urbanization on the development of agriculture, agricultural markets and rural society. The results of the author's intensive field studies provide new insights into the origins and the process of economic and social change in Africa. The studies lead to an evaluation of the strategy of regional industrialization contributing to development policy.
