The thesis deals with transport and spatial development as well as demographic and economic changes. With regard to the overall inspection of alternative engine technologies in the private car market and the generation of renewable energies up to now little work has been carried out on this particular field of research. For this kind of examination the rural areas are favorable since the motorized individual transport has a special importance there. The mobility change can have an important contribution to the regional development because the added value from the locally generated energy contributes a big share in the region. In addition the private households can profit from a less vacillating mobility budget. Hence, the mobility change can support spatial mobility and therefore, improve the chances of participation in social life in rural areas. From the ecological point of view the local mobility change seems to be beneficial. On the one hand the private transport emissions are reduced due to the change of technology. On the other hand CO2-emissions are lowered due to the usage of regionally sustainably generated energy. For the necessary setup of infrastructure a suggestion was made which represents a compromise between development goals, cost considerations and coverage.
