Estimating global irradiance on tilted surfaces using a cubic multi-directional pyranometer array
The multi-directional pyranometer array is a method for estimation of the global irradiance on a tilted plane and the direct irradiance based on the simultaneous measurement of global irradiance on a set of stationary surfaces with different inclinations and orientations. Experimental testing shows that estimates of global irradiance on a tilted plane are 50% more accurate than transposing measured global and diffuse irradiance. A simplified layout of five sensors yields comparable results.
