A biomass briquetting fuel machine and its large-scale operation system
Biomass such as agricultural and forestry residues is an important resource for energy. Biomass can be converted into densified solid biofuel by briquetting fuel technology to increase the number of applications and enhance its utilization efficiency. In this study, a flat die press machine was designed and studied to realize characteristics of a broad range of feedstock, variable briquetting diameter and length, high briquetting efficiency, easy process control, low processing noise, and low energy consumption. Different experiments were conducted to ensure suitability for large-scale operations while reducing energy consumption, enhancing yield, and lowering product costs. The biomass briquetting fuel system equipment was integrated, and the system could adjust its overall running conditions automatically according to the feed rate, chopping rate, heat supply, output, and feedstock moisture content, allowing for continuous integrated operation. In addition, a biomass hot-blast furnace was used as a drying machine and burned biomass material rather than fossil fuels. This study of biomass briquetting technology supports the large-scale production of densified solid biofuel through the use of biomass resources.
