Interaction of long piles with the surrounding multilayer and substrate soil
The vast majority of construction sites are characterized by difficult engineering and geological conditions, which include alternating soil layers, including weak ones. A pile foundation is considered as the main type of foundation on such sites. This article discusses the formulation and solution of the problem of the interaction of a long pile with the surrounding multilayer and underlying soils. The problem was considered in a linear setting. The solution is presented by analytical and numerical methods. The results obtained were compared by the analytical solution of the elastic problem with the results obtained in the Plaxis 3D software package. An expression is obtained for determination the reduced shear modulus for a multilayer soil mass. Analytical solutions in the article are supported by a graphical part. Numerical solutions of the problem were obtained in the Plaxis 3D software package. The dependency graphs of the settlement of a pile cutting through alternating layers on the load are given. The obtained dependence for determining the reduced shear modulus of a multilayer soil mass showed good convergence with numerical methods in an elastic formulation. The solutions obtained can be used to preliminary determine the movement of a long pile with the surrounding multilayer and underlying soils. Selection of the optimal ratio of the pile length and its diameter allows you to use the bearing capacity of the pile as efficiently as possible.
