Wave-induced seabed liquefaction around composite bucket foundations of offshore wind turbines during the sinking process
A 3D numerical model is established to simulate a wave-induced seabed dynamic response around composite bucket foundations and to consider the sinking processes that are due to negative pressures. The negative pressure has an influence on the pore-pressure of the seabed close to the foundation. The sinking velocity of the foundation has little influence on the wave-induced pore-water-pressure of the seabed. The liquefaction depth around the composite bucket wind turbine foundation decreased as a result of the negative pressure. The effects of the sinking process on seabed response weaken as the negative pressure dissipates.
