Calculation of multilayer road surfaces taking into account inelastic deformation of layers
A finite element modeling of the deformation of a multilayer road surface under the action of a distributed load from a passing wheel has been performed. It is taken into account that the deformation of the lower layer of the road surface occurs following the Drucker-Prager model. Using ABAQUS software, the distribution of stresses and strains over the roadway volume was obtained for several options of its layer thickness. It was found that an increase in the thickness of the second top layer of the road surface leads to a significant expansion of the area of increased deformation of the lower layers.
