A step-by-step application of Danish method for generation of typical meteorological years of China
Typical weather year files like typical meteorological year (TMY) are of utmost importance for calculations concerning many applications in the field of solar energy systems. They are also essential in many engineering utilizations such as agriculture, meteorology, and building simulations. A step-to-step procedure of the Danish method represented is proposed and applied in this paper. It would facilitate the development of TMYs for any region if enough data are available. By applying the measured weather data covering 10–16 yr, TMYs for 35 meteorological stations in China are generated using the simple step-to-step produce of the Danish method. The TMY data and typical solar radiation data are investigated and analyzed in this study. Moreover, the generated TMY data in this paper are compared with the data from Meteonorm software, SWERA, IWEC and RETScreen software.
