Unsteady Flow Simulation in Rivers and Reservoirs
A digital computer program for solving the basic equations of unsteady flows in reservoirs and natural rivers is being used by the TVA to solve a variety of open-channel flow problems. The mathematical model, which has been proven with field measurements, is capable of accurately predicting variations in water surface elevations, mean velocities, and flows with respect to time at any point along a stream.
