Container Wharf Upgrade and Seismic Strengthening Guidelines at the Port of Los Angeles
The Port of Los Angeles (POLA) is one of the largest container ports in the United States. As such, POLA is proactive in implementing programs to ensure reliable, safe and efficient operations with a focus on disaster reduction and sustainability of existing facilities. The purpose of this paper is to outline the POLA's approach to developing a wharf upgrade and seismic strengthening program.
