Settlement Studies of Structures in Egypt
Systematic settlement observations are described, in this paper, of a number of new buildings–public and private–constructed within a radius of several hundred miles. Foundations of every conceivable type were included, and the observations were combined with comparative investigations in the laboratory–all based oil the principles of modern soil mechanics.
