Remote Terminal Cost Estimating
Procedures which can consistently provide accurate cost estimates require extensive data manipulations. The remote-terminal cost estimating procedure presented uses the computer to perform the data manipulations but still allows the estimator control of the data being used. This procedure can be used for estimating by lump-sum, by unit-costs, or by resource enumeration and costing. The steps in the preparation of a cost estimate are described along with the interaction of the estimating procedure with other construction management procedures. In particular, the use of historical data accumulated through the use of the CESL PAYROLL and ACCOUNTING procedures, and the use of resource cost files is described.
