Redesign of Major Airport Terminals
The development of electronic devices for all-weather flying will make it necessary to increase the capacity of many major airports. The trend will be toward the redevelopment of existing airports rather than the construction of new fields.
The requirements of an adequate design are discussed and illustrated by reference to a typical redesign as worked out for the Lambert-St. Louis Municipal Airport (St. Louis, Mo.). The advantages of the improved layout are described and related to the-general problem of airport redesign.
