Surveys for Swift River Reservoir of the Boston Metropolitan Water Supply
It is the purpose of this paper to outline, briefly, the methods pursued in the work of real estate and topographic surveys preparatory to the construction of the Swift River Reservoir. The methods adopted are similar to those used on other large projects, with modifications to meet local conditions of valuation and time. On this work, the aerial survey has been used as a guide to the ground survey rather than in the final preparation of maps.
