A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The Michigan-based American Center for Mobility is located at a former World War II bomber factory, later an auto plant, that was environmentally challenged after decades of industrial use. Though the environmental remediation process remains ongoing, the site has been converted into a comprehensive testing facility for connected and automated vehicles. Designed to simulate multiple real-world driving experiences under all possible weather and roadway conditions, the test facility features the latest in intelligent transportation system technologies.
