Strategic Planning for Intelligent Transportation Systems in China
As we know, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) can improve safety, reduce congestion, enhance mobility, minimize environmental impact, save energy and promote economic productivity in our transportation system. However, China does not have a perfect strategic planning and architecture for ITS. It is important for China to develop ITS architecture. In terms of the characteristics of Chinese transportation, this paper creates ITS architecture, which defines the interface and interaction between three layers. Actually, this paper is mainly concerned about ITS architecture in urban and expressway transportation systems. Finally, this paper talks about the issues for future consideration of ITS in China.
