Looking Ahead in Engineering Education
The role of the prophet is precarious. Based on the expansion of knowledge in the physical sciences, and the life sciences, supported by a study of the engineering profession and engineering education of today, an extrapolation will be hazarded in this paper. A guide line is established by the extent to which the prognostications of engineering education of the last generation have been realized. Again, early engineering education is examined to discover whether old ideas can be resuscitated and utilized.
