America's Costliest Bedrooms: The Suburbs
America's suburbs are called “Ledroom” towns, and by and large they have proved to be serious problems for the central city. This paper discusses the basic principles behind the growing suburban trend. The pattern of development is traced, and the effect of decentralization on the city and on the suburb is evaluated. Several suggestions are offered as to a working arrangement between the main city and its dependent suburbs.
