Contamination of Discharge Well from Recharge Well
The recovery of waste water by a discharge well from a neighboring recharge well is studied. The wells are situated in a confined aquifer through with there is uniform flow. The local seepage velocity, V, which appears in the convective dispersion equation is replaced by the uniform flow velocity u/Θ. Furthermore, the longitudinal dispersion term is neglected. A closed form solution is obtained for the discharge well concentration as a function of position (relative to the recharge well), pumping rate of both wells, and lateral dispersion.
