Modular Temporary Housing for Situations of Humanitarian Catastrophe
The search for architectural solutions for emergency situations is an important line of research. In this article, the most appropriate conditions for the different situations that can turn up after a disaster were analyzed and proposals for temporary housing were presented. These are possibly the most suitable solutions for developed countries. The design and calculation of an experimental wooden module, built at the University School of Architecture in A Coruña, which has served as a prototype to analyze its viability in practice, were also presented. Finally, there is a critical review of the results and possible improvements detected.
