Dynamic Response of the Rectangular Plate Subjected to Moving Loads with Variable Velocity
The dynamic response of a rectangular plate on a viscoelastic foundation under moving loads with varying velocity is investigated. Three types of moving loads, including acceleration, deceleration, and uniform speed are discussed. Analytical solutions of the dynamic deflection of a plate with general boundary conditions subjected to moving loads are presented by means of dealing with the governing equation. In the numerical analysis, a plate with four edges simply supported is selected to study the dynamic response yielded by the moving loads. The deflection distributions in the range of the plate for the accelerated and decelerated load cases are illustrated. The time histories of the deflection response corresponding to different acceleration and deceleration levels are investigated in detail. The effects of the initial speed of the moving load and the damping of the foundation on the response are also discussed.
