Laterally Loaded Thin Flat Plates
In the work reported herein, certain laterally loaded thin plates were studied experimentally, using the Moire method, and analytically, by finite differences. The procedures followed in the study are summarized, the results are presented, and possible sources of error in the Moire technique are examined. In general, the agreement of deflections and moments as found by the two methods is good, with maximum variations about 10%.
