Durability of Cement-Bentonite Cut-Off Walls in Sulphate Solutions
This paper presents the outcome of a research program aimed at investigating migration and interaction mechanisms of saline and acidic sulphate solutions through cement-bentonite mixtures with the main aim to estimate their long-term hydraulic performance and durability. A method to evaluate the mixture durability is proposed, based on the results of several column tests performed with different solutions for long times (up to about 5 years).
