Engineers' Contribution in Developing American Cities
Members of the engineering professions, particularly civil engineers, have contributed much to city development. Although there is a great deal to admire in American cities, in some respects—particularly in regard to overcrowding and congestion—they tend to get out of hand. In these phases of urban growth, the engineer must do his part to find means of controlling the “monsters” that he has helped to create.
