Inspectors and Bridge Work
The object of this paper is to discuss the characteristics and work of inspectors, especially as regards their bearing on the bridge industries of this country, and to determine upon the most harmonious relations between them and the manufacturer. In bridge work the percentage of inspectors per pound of iron is increasing very rapidly, and this fact makes it all the more important that a thorough understanding of the scope of inspectors be reached, as upon them depends, to a very large extent, the tranquil or ruffled close of a contract.
