The Relation of Zoning to the Housing Problem
Although zoning is a comparatively new municipal activity in the United States, no movement having to deal with community development has received so much popular support wherever its meaning and intent have been made entirely clear to the people. This is undoubtedly due to the fact that it offers a maximum of protection and benefit to both public and private interests in the matter of urban development, with a minimum of expense and effort. Practically the only cost attached to the establishment and enforcement of a zoning code is that Contingent to the making of the necessary surveys and district maps, the drafting of the code, and the administration of the law after its enactment.
