Structural Inverse Conversion Analysis on Removal of Closure Segment in Prestressed Concrete Cable-Stayed Bridges
Removal of the old closure segment was the precondition for replacement. Compared with the closure of a new bridge, removal of the closure segment was a structural inverse conversion process. To establish an effective analysis method for this process, an approach for establishing a structural basement calculation model, based on the current inspecting results, was provided. The method considered the original construction process, operational factors of existing prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridges, and model updating techniques to achieve the structural state simulation before the removal of the closure segment. According to the removal construction sequence, the structural mode changes during the removal of the closure segment. The construction monitoring results showed, this method could reflect the actual structural state. The simulated results could well meet with the measured values. The structural inverse conversion analysis could provide the basis for construction control of removing closure segment, and is an important component of the strengthening theory on replacement of the closure segment.
