Seismic Hazard Analysis and Developing the Uniform Hazard Spectra for an Under-Construction Railroad Bridge
A site investigation as well as a Seismic Hazard Analysis (SHA) have been carried out for a railroad bridge, which crosses Sephidrood River in Qazvin-Rasht-Anzali route in the northern part of Iran and is presently under-construction. The aim has been founding out the level of seismic hazard for the bridge and developing the Uniform Hazard Spectra (UHS) for verifying the performed seismic design of the bridge. At first, it was tried to recognize all the active faults around the bridge. Secondly, by using the appropriate attenuation laws, the PGA values on the site were estimated. These values obtained for the site vary between 0.169g and 0.296g depending on the applied attenuation laws. Finally, the UHS, which are more reliable for design purposes, were constructed for the 2% and 10% probability of exceedence in 50 years ground motions.
