Effect of Lubrication Strength on Efficiency of Slurry Pipe Jacking
This paper investigates the effect of lubrication stability against frictional forces in pipe jacking. Friction tests at the interface between the pipe and the lubricant material were performed. Based on the testing results a three dimensional analysis was carried out using FLAC3D code. The results show that lower frictional resistance and about 17% increase in jacking efficiency are expected by using more stable lubrication material.
