Theoretical and Numerical Analysis of Jacked Pile in Sand
A simplified method for predicting the plastic zone area around the jacked pile in sand was proposed in terms of the minor average volumetric plastic strain of sand. And then numerical analysis using the commercial software PFC2D was used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method with the consideration of the porosity change of sand during pile installation. Finally, a parametric study was conducted to evaluate the sensitivity of the parameters like pile diameter, pile installation rate, pile tip resistance, and pile shaft resistance in the plastic zone area.
