Challenges in Poroelasticity and Solid-Fluid Mixtures Development
Unusual temperature and pressure predictions that arise in poroelasticity and immiscible solid fluid mixtures modeling present a great challenge for future developments. The uncommon character of the entropy to comply with the rules of the axiomatic theory of mixtures leads to a temperature with no lower bound. Poroelasticity is not concerned with this problem, as it is an isothermal model. The main problem of the second version of poroelasticity is an uncommon pressure prediction. A porosity dependence of the hydrostatic state takes place during the transition from the model variables to measurable quantities.
