A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The new Walt Disney Family Museum displays artifacts and images from the life and work of Walt Disney and was constructed in a renovated army barracks and two other buildings located in the historic Presidio of San Francisco. To convert the former military structures into museum, archival, and support spaces, the buildings were strengthened seismically, the interiors were both adapted and preserved, and a modern, 20,000 sq ft addition was constructed between the wings of the main building.
