Pittsburgh's Comprehensive Improvement Program
Recent redevelopment activities in Pittsburgh, Pa., have been unusually extensive, and the author describes the planning, execution, and financing of this work. The various organizations that have been established, the legislation that has been enacted, and the negotiations that have been necessary for the accomplishment of the plan are described. The over-all project involves smoke and flood control, highways, parking, airports, mass transit, sanitation and public health, recreation and conservation, zoning and urban redevelopment, libraries and other cultural institutions, and economic development.
