Volume-Weight of Reservoir Sediment
Detailed study of volume-weight of deposited sediment in Sabetha Lake, in Kansas, using gamma probe and piston-type sampler; study showed that volume-weight of sediment in lake varied from approximately 35 to 92 1b/cu ft; volume-weight primarily depends on clay fraction of sediment and, to much smaller extent, on depth of sediment in sediment deposit; clay fraction tends to vary inversely with distance upstream from dam.
