Seismic Risk Assessment and Upgrade Strategy of Hospital-lifeline Performance
Medical facility needs to sustain lifeline functions in order to receive and take care of a large number of injured people whenever the catastrophic earthquake occurs. Malfunction of hospital-lifeline due to damage to lifelines of outside hospital has caused significant impact to the injured people. This paper addresses risks of physical damage and malfunction impact due to water outages to hospital. Social benefit is analyzed when some strategies are taken to sustain hospital-lifeline function.
