Matrix Formulation of Folded Plate Equations
An analytical procedure, utilizing matrix algebra, is developed for determining longitudinal stresses, transverse moments, and vertical deflections in folded plate structures. The procedure provides an efficient and systematic method for analyzing structures of this type. The sequence of matrix operations can be readily programmed for a digital computer having available matrix subroutines. A sequence which has been programmed for the IBM 704 digital computer is described.
